We are here today to look at the biggest changes to the lore of The Lord of the Rings that are created by Shadow of War. Shadow of war is arguably the better game, but for the best story play shadow of Mordor first as it is the first in the series Mummify95 5 mo. The game ends with Talion and Celebrimbor promising to forge a new ring that was strong enough to challenge Sauron. Shadow of Mordor ran wild with the continuity of Lord of the Ringsby revealing that the main character was bound to the spirit of Celebrimbor, the Elf who taught Sauron how to forge rings. The first game in the series was an entertaining fantasy equivalent to Assassin's Creed, which had the interesting Nemesis System, where you battled against a hierarchy of powerful orcs who would become stronger if they killed you. This could only mean one thing - Middle-Earth: Shadow of War was finally released on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Tolkien spinning in his grave like a Beyblade. Production value is above average but the writing, the story and characters are terribly written so I can't believe that this is a mediocre show simply because it's aesthetically pleasing. On October 10th, a strange sound could be heard emanating from the city of Oxford in England. ROP is subpar at best, it could be argued that it's poor. I watched the Spartacus Series, even though I liked it, I would say that was closer to mediocre if I'm being objective, even Wheel of Time was closer to Mediocre than ROP. The difficulty setting is JUST what this game needed to fully take advantage of the Nemesis System. I had one and a half episodes to go and I couldn't even finish the series it was so boring, I didn't even care. I keep seeing that this show is mediocre when I couldn't even stay awake while watching it. I understand that this is subjective but there is nothing keeping me engaged or interested in the show other than the good scenery and cinematography. I would argue that ROP is not mediocre but subpar or low-grade. But it's not remotely Tolkien-ish, in lore or theme. It may well be a better video game than Rings of Power is a TV show. Shadow of War is a great fantasy video game with an interesting story. Again and again the point is that it's worth doing evil things to serve the good, which is literally the thing that book characters again and again say is a horrible idea that only ends things worse than they began. It's a game that STARTS OUT with Celebrimbor forging a new ring of power to take on Sauron, and ends with Talion becoming a ringwraith so he can protect innocents in the meantime. Worst of all, though, you have a story that says Boromir and Saruman were right and Gandalf and Frodo were stupid to throw the ring away. You're talking about a game that has a backstory of Celebrimbor almost beating Sauron before the ring slips off his finger. A game with teleporting elf ninjas, with orc wizards who summon a Balrog. Look, you are talking about a game that made Isildur a ringwraith. But blowing off Shelob as a "detail" when she's a major part of the game's story who bears no resemblance, physical or otherwise, to her character in the books, is the height of denial. In terms of lore and faithfulness to Tolkien's vision? Shadow of War is hot trash. I agree with you that Shadow had a better original story than RoP. Shadow of War is a good video game and Rings of Power is a mediocre TV show.
